Buffalo Springfield member Neil Young, who just swung through town on a solo tour, is the subject of a new DVD documentary which is out on June 21st, Here We Are In The Years. The disc “traces the astonishing musical journey of Neil Young from the day he first heard Elvis to his most recent offerings”. Check out a clip from that DVD below…

about him)
Despite remaining a hugely original singer, songwriter, performer and, let’s face it, human being, across a career spanning almost fifty years, Neil Young has never been immune to the influence of others. This will be of no surprise to anyone with even a hint of interest in the man and his music, but only those who have studied their subject in depth will be aware of the enormous range of artists and genres Neil has both been affected by and drawn inspiration from, much of which, if one knows where to look, is apparent in Young’s incredible catalogue.
2012 will be the year that record companies release High Resolution Audio.
This is huge for our industry. Since the advent of the CD, listeners have been deprived of the full experience of listening. With the introduction of MP3s via online music services, listeners were further deprived.
The spirituality and soul of music is truly found when the sound engulfs you and that is just what 2012 will bring. It is a physical thing, a relief that you feel when you finally hear music the way artists and producers did when they created it in the studio. The sound engulfs you and your senses open up allowing you to truly feel the deep emotion in the music of some of our finest artists. From Frank Sinatra to the Black Keys, the feeling is there. This is what recording companies were born to give you and in 2012 they will deliver.
Tour rumor analysis: Austin Speculation Limits 2011: Buffalo Springfield
update: The festival announced their lineup this morning and it does NOT include BS.
“by Dan Solomon April 29, 2011
As the list of bands playing the Austin City Limits Music Festival
begins to slowly trickle out, the Internet leaps to its true purpose:
wildly unfounded speculation.
…
Artist: Buffalo Springfield
What the Internet says: Otto over at ACLRumors lists Buffalo
Springfield in his “Confirmations” post, along with the
already-confirmed Cee Lo Green, the highly likely Wilco, and the
much-speculated Paul Simon and Soundgarden. He doesn’t cite a source,
though (even one as dubious as “my friend who totally works for C3”), so
for all we know, it’s Otto the bus driver from The Simpsons. ”
..moar why that’s ridiculous and why it may be true… odds are 2:1.
